BRPD makes 29 DWI arrests after St. Patrick's Day parade

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

As the celebration after the St. Patrick's Day parade in Baton Rouge took to the bars, police arrested more than 25 people accused of drunk driving.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported in the 12 hours following Saturday's parade 29 people were arrested for DWI. Officials said there was no checkpoint set up. There was a heavy police presence and all of the stops were made during patrols.

Below is a complete breakdown of police results:

DWI arrests: 29

Moving violations: 95

Seatbelt violations: 135

Child restraint violations: 23

Other non-moving violations: 134

Other arrests: 9
