Coach Kliff offers advice as Red Raiders head for Spring Break

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

After two weeks of Spring football drills, Kliff Kingsbury and the Red Raiders will take a break for Spring Break. Kliff gave the guys some words of encouragement as they left.

"Be safe and don't be on the Bottom Line (ESPN). That's about it. Only advice," Coach Kingsbury said.

For the players, it's a chance to spend time with family and friends.

"I'm just going home to see my Mom. Visit her and work out. Relax with family." said Pete Robertson, Junior Linebacker.

Sophomore Running Back Quinton White was also excited to head home.

"I'm going back to College Station with family. You can't get too crazy. Got to maintain and stay focused."

The team will reconvene next week. Kingsbury is excited to continue practice leading up to the Spring Game April 12 at 11a.m.

"I think it helps, splitting it up. They'll come back refreshed and excited about the last 10 practices," Kingsbury said.

The first open to the public practice is March 29 in Midland.

Week 3 of Texas Tech's football fall camp is underway and there are still questions on both sides of the football. The air raid attack is to be expected, but Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury likes what he's seen from the Red Raiders backfield so far.
