Joint investigation by Angelina County Sheriff's Office, DPS results in meth arrest

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

 

A team effort involving the criminal investigation divisions of the Angelina County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety resulted in the arrest of a 42-year-old Lufkin woman who had been under surveillance for several months for alleged drug violations.

Tracy Janet Thomas is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a first-degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance between 4 and 200 grams and a Class B misdemeanor charge of failure to identify as a fugitive from justice. No bail has been set at this time.

According to the ACSO's mobile app, Thomas was arrested on U.S. Highway 59 South at approximately 3:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Thomas was allegedly found to be in possession of narcotics in powder and pill form, cash, and a set of brass knuckles.
