NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office arrested a 34-year-old man for injury to a child after he allegedly pushed his 13-year-old daughter off his front porch. The fall from the porch caused bruising to the girl.

According to the arrest affidavit, an NCSO deputy was dispatched to Nacogdoches Medical Center Hospital on March 10 in reference to child abuse. When the deputy spoke to Rogers' ex-wife, she told him that she had told her babysitter to drop the 13-year-old girl off at Rogers' residence in the 3200 block of Highway 204, so she could spend Spring Break with him.

The affidavit stated that Rogers answered the door after they knocked. When his 13-year-old daughter started to walk into the house, Rogers allegedly shoved her off his front porch. The babysitter told the girl's mother that the girl appeared to be injured and was crying.

The 13-year-old's mother arrived at Rogers' residence a short time later and took the girl to the hospital ER. The ER doctor told the NCSO that the 13-year-old girl didn't suffer any broken bones or a dislocated shoulder in the fall. However, the girl did have a bruise on her lower left leg, according to the affidavit.
