With our West Texas Winds swirling over 40 MPH, the Red Raider's baseball game with Stephen F. Austin was pushed from 6:30 p.m. to a 9:05 p.m. first pitch, the latest starting home game in over 13 years.
With 17 hits, the Red Raiders ended up rolling past the Lumberjacks 20-4 in a game that ended at 11:43pm.
Once the game started, the 25th ranked Red Raiders didn't waste any more time batting through the order for the first time this season, plating 5 runs in the first. Tech added 11 more in the 6th to break it open.
Matt Withrow went 5 innings, giving up 3 runs and getting 5 strikeouts.
Stephen Smith was 5 for 6 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored.
The 17-5 Red Raiders will face Stephen F. Austin again Wednesday at 2 p.m.
Tech then jumps back into Big 12 play visiting TCU over the weekend.
