Food for Thought: 3/27

A recently-open steakhouse lands at the bottom of the list this week. KCBD NewsChannel 11's Christy Hartin dishes out the details in this week's Food for Thought.

We begin at Churrasca Brazilian Steakhouse at 6015 82nd. They had nine critical violations.

  • An employee changed tasks without properly washing their hands.
  • Employees were drinking from uncovered drinks in the kitchen. Coffee grounds and a bucket were in a hand sink.
  • Raw sausage was stored above gloves in the walk-in cooler.
  • Several items including potato salad and chicken salad did not have a date mark.
  • A toxic item was not labeled. Butane was stored above ice cream.
  • A sanitizing solution was not strong enough.
  • The facility did not have a tip-sensitive thermometer.
  • Dirty knives were stored with clean ones. Sticker residue was found on clean dishes.
