Wayland Baptist baseball coach Brad Bass will be recognized for earning his 800th career win prior to the No. 20 Pioneers' game against University of the Southwest on Tuesday, April 1.

Bass, who picked up his 800th victory earlier this month during a road series against St. Gregory's, will be presented a plaque before the start of the noon game at Wilder Field.

Bass now owns a career record of 805-694, which ranks 14th among NAIA's active coaches in number of wins. Bass, who coached at Hardin-Simmons and Texas Wesleyan before coming to Plainview, owns a record of 545-509-3 at Wayland, where he's in his 19th year.

The Pioneers (24-8, 12-0 SAC), in first place in the Sooner Athletic Conference, are in Shawnee, Okla., to face second-ranked Oklahoma Baptist (26-4, 9-2) in a three-game series this weekend, starting with a doubleheader at 4 p.m. Friday.
