Crockett to play in Reese's College All-Star Game

Texas Tech's Jaye Crockett has been named to the West Squad of the 2014 Reese's Division I All-Star Game, a National Association of Basketball Coaches event, as a part of Final Four Friday.

Crockett, who finished his career at Texas Tech 24th on the all-time scoring list, is one of 20 players from across the nation selected to participate in the event. Crockett is one of three Big 12 Conference players selected to participate, joining Baylor's Cory Jefferson and Oklahoma's Cameron Clark.

2014 Reese's Division I All-Star Game will be played at AT&T Stadium on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and is free to the public. The game is played as part of events during Final Four Friday, including practices by all four of the teams playing in the semifinals on Saturday.

After leading the Red Raiders in scoring for the second straight season, Crockett earned Third Team All-Big 12 honors from the league coaches, while notching Fourth Team honors from and honorable mention from the Associated Press. He was a USBWA

First Team All-District selection and a First Team Academic All-Big 12 selection. Crockett was also a Dr. Gerald Lage Award recipient, the highest academic honor in the Big 12.

This past season, Crockett averaged 13.9 points per game, while pulling down 6.4 rebounds. He also added 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals per game, while shooting a league-best 51.7 percent from the field.

Crockett is the first Red Raider to play in the All-Star Game since Andre Emmett participated in the 2004 edition of the event.
