Tyler fire crews battle house fire in south Tyler

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Tyler fire crews were called to a house fire in the 7100 block of Richfield Drive just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday night.

That's just south of the Target store near South Broadway Avenue.

Paul Findley, with the Tyler Fire Department, tells KLTV 7 that the home is a duplex, and that the fire was contained to just one side of the home.

The woman who was living in the duplex with her daughter told KLTV 7 that she walked into her kitchen, and saw flames coming out of the cabinet. The two got out of the house, and were not seriously hurt.

The woman told KLTV 7 that they had only been living in the duplex for about two weeks. Findley says that the Red Cross will be working with the woman and her daughter to find a place to stay tonight.
