The winter weather caused numerous power outages across the South Plains.
On Tuesday three schools in the Frenship ISD faced problems with no electricity. No power meant no lights, no phones, no heat and no lunch for the students.
"Normally we don't like to dismiss school early and hardly ever will do that unless the conditions are too severe, but in this case we had to at the High School because they were out of electricity and we didn't know when we'd get it," said Frenship Superintendent John Thomas.
Abernathy ISD also experienced power problems today. Students there were also dismissed before noon.
Thankfully both districts had bus services to get kids home or parents on call to commute.
