Lubbock police searching for Smokehead Shop robbery suspect

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock police are searching for an armed robbery suspect in West Lubbock.

Police say a man with a gun robbed the Smokehead Shop at 53rd and Slide around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday night then fled the scene on foot.

Police say the suspect entered through the front door holding a gun and walked towards a store clerk demanding money from the register.

The suspect is described as "a black male with a thin build, about 6' tall wearing a black cap, red TTU hoodie, dark sweat pants, and a blue bandana across his chin exposing his face."

Police say the suspect was outside business before the robbery and patrons coming and going at around 10:40 p.m. may have seen him before the robbery was committed.
