Police searching for Rip Griffin, EZ Mart robbery suspect

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock police are searching for a suspect involved in an early morning robbery in Northwest Lubbock.

Police say a man armed with a gun robbed the Rip Griffin Travel Center at 4th and Toledo around 1:45 a.m. Friday morning.

They say the suspect pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded money from cash register then fled the scene on foot and into nearby apartment complexes. 

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black man around 5-feet-9-inches tall weighing about 190 pounds.

Police say he was last seen wearing a black nylon cap, a black leather jacket, a black and white button up shirt, a red undershirt and red shoes.

Police are also searching for a robbery suspect matching the same description. 

They say the suspect entered the EZ Mart at 5444 50th Street, pointed a gun at the store clerk and demanded money from the register.

The clerk gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect then fled the scene on foot.
