ARLINGTON, Texas - It wasn't the storybook ending he had hoped for, but Jaye Crockett took it in stride, as the West All-Stars fell to the East All-Stars, 87-75, at the Reese's Division I College All-Star Game on Friday at AT&T Stadium.

"I was hoping for 30 points and 15 rebounds, but it didn't work out like that for me," said Crockett, a native of Clovis, N.M. "Overall, it was a great experience. I made some good friends and had the opportunity to play in a place like AT&T Stadium on the same court as the Final Four."

Crockett, who is one of five players in Texas Tech history to record 1,000 points, 600 rebounds, 100 assists and 100 steals in a career, finished the game with six points, seven rebounds, two steals and an assist in 23 minutes.

"Shots just were not falling for us tonight," added Crockett. "We had some good looks, but they were not going in."

The West All-Stars, which featured two Big 12 Conference players in Crockett and Oklahoma's Cameron Clark, shot just 31.3 percent from the field. In the first half, the West had converted on a mere 25.6 percent from the field.

Crockett closes the book on a stellar Red Raider career, earning Third Team All-Big 12 honors from the league's coaches and honorable mention All-Big 12 from the Associated Press. He is also the first Red Raider to appear in the NABC all-star game since Andre Emmett was invited to the 2004 edition of the event.

The game was Crockett's lone postseason appearance in five seasons on the South Plains.

"This was special for me," said Crockett. "The outcome wasn't what I wanted, but it was a great experience and I got to play in this atmosphere in front of my friends and family."

Crockett had a contingent of more than 30 on hand to see his final game as an amateur. It was evident they were present during the player introductions.

During his five years at Texas Tech, Crockett persevered through four head coaches, while playing in 125 career games. He finished his career with 1,232 points, 677 rebounds, 111 assists, 106 steals and 65 blocks. Crockett is the fifth player in school history to record 1,000 points, 600 rebounds, 100 assists and 100 steals in a season. He joins Will Flemons (1990-93), Jason Sasser (1993-96), Andre Emmett (2001-04) and Martin Zeno (2005-08).

Crockett, who is close to finishing his master's degree, was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree and the recipient of the Big 12's Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award — the conference's highest of academic honor.

Now Crockett will turn his attention to the future, where he wants to continue to play basketball at the next level.

"My goal now is to get an agent and go from there," said Crockett. "This was a great way to cap off my college career and represent Texas Tech."
