Learn how to make tamales! Rawlings Community Center will be hosting a two-part Tamale Making Workshop on April 11th to the 12th.
Part I of the workshop will be held on Friday, April 11th, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and participants will learn how to make the meat part of the tamale. On Saturday, April 12th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., participants will finish up Part II of the workshop by making the masa, assembling their tamales, and then cooking them. At the end of the workshop, participants will take home a half-dozen homemade tamales!
Pre-registration is required by Thursday, April 10th. The cost is $20 per person and includes all supplies needed to make the tamales. Space is limited, so register today!
Rawlings Community Center is located at 213 40th St. (40th St. and Ave. B). Their regular operating hours are Monday to Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
