Lubbock County registered a record number of voters this year. But, only 57% of those voters actually came out to vote.
Just over 58,000 people cast their ballots early in this election when the weather was nice. But, when winter pushed through on election day, less than 35,000 turned out to cast their vote. That's a total of almost 93,000 voters.
Lubbock County elections officials are confident the weather on election day kept some voters away. Overall turnout was better in this presidential election than the last. However all those extra votes were cast during early voting.
