Saturday is Election Day, polls are open until 7 p.m.


Saturday is Election Day on the South Plains. You can find a complete list of voting locations available here. Polls are open until 7 p.m.

We'll have complete results for you tonight on air and online after the polls close.

In Lubbock, three seats on the City Council are up for grabs in the May 10 election.

In District 1, incumbent Victor Hernandez will face Frank Gutierrez and Lana Bear Moore.

In District 3, incumbent Todd Klein is not seeking re-election. Maurice Stanley, Jeff Griffith, and Deanne Clark are running for the District 3 seat.

And, in District 5 incumbent Karen Gibson is facing Brian Carr.

Three candidates are running for the At-Large seat on the Lubbock ISD Board of Trustees. They are:

Laura Vinson, a 20 year banker who currently serves as Senior V.P. at Prosperity Bank.

Boyd Goodloe, who is on the Human Resources Team at Globe Energy Service.

And, Brett Underwood who is the Executive V.P. of The Trinity Company, a cotton storage business.

Voters in the Frenship ISD will consider an $85.2-million bond proposal. A majority of the money would be spent on a new 9th grade center and an 8th elementary campus.

Voters in the Lubbock-Cooper ISD will also consider a bond proposal. Much of the $55-million would be dedicated to new classroom construction and renovations, mostly at the high school.

Two candidates are also running for Place 4 on the Lubbock-Cooper ISD Board of Trustees.  They are: Derek Kitten and Matt Caswell.
