The Wilson ISD administration has dropped its ban on Patricia Johnson and Michelle Story. We received a letter today from David Backus, lawyer for the Wilson School Board, stating that Patricia and Michelle will now be allowed to go onto school grounds to drop off and pick up their children from school and attend school-related activities including athletic events, assemblies, and honor programs, including graduation. Previously, the Superintendent Mr. Schaub had banned both Patricia Johnson and Michelle Story from school property and school functions unless they specifically obtained permission from him on a "case by case basis". That ban specifically prohibited them from dropping their own children off at school and picking them up from school.
Patricia Johnson and Michelle Story welcome this policy reversal, and are relieved to know that they can attend their own children's graduation and awards banquet. The subject of the temporary injunction hearing was to address the Superintendent's action in banning them from school property. Because the ban has been lifted, we are cancelling the temporary injunction hearing that was scheduled for April 22nd. The suit will remain pending and be set for final trial at a later date. At final trial, Patricia Johnson and Michelle Story will still seek an order reinstating them to their jobs as teachers
