Lubbock City Council Wants To Change Petition Process For Alcohol Sales

The Lubbock City Council wants to change state law to let them call an election to allow alcohol sales.

One of the council's legislative priorities next year will be to ask lawmakers to allow a city or county to call an election for beer and wine sales without a petition.

Meanwhile, a second attempt continues to legalize package liquor sales in Lubbock County precincts three and four. Roger Settler has until November 16th to collect more than 7,000 valid signatures to call an election.
