Frenship I.S.D. is pleased to announce Frenship High School basketball player Marcos Schuster is signing a national letter of intent to play for Lubbock Christian University. Schuster will sign his intent during a ceremony on Wednesday, April 16 at 10:00 a.m. in the Frenship High School library.
Schuster, a two-year letterman for the Tiger basketball program, helped Frenship compile 56 victories and win back-to-back District 4-4A championships during his two season on varsity.
During his senior campaign in 2014, Schuster averaged 19.3 points and 2.9 assists while shooting 53 percent from the floor and 81 percent from the free throw line. For his efforts, he was recognized on the District 4-4A Most Valuable Player and the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal City Player of the Year and South Plains 5A/4A Player of the Year. Schuster was named Academic All-State by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches. He was also selected to play in both the TABC All Star Game and the Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Game this summer.
This season, the Tigers finished with a record of 29-5 and qualified for the Class 4A Region I Quarterfinals.
During his junior season in 2012-2013, Schuster was named the District 4-4A Newcomer of the Year. The Tigers went 27-10 and qualified for the Regional Semifinals.
Schuster joins a basketball program at LCU under the direction of head coach Todd Duncan. His coach at Frenship was Jason Dear.
