Two men who led police on a high speed chase Thursday are now facing a number of charges.
Police say it began after the two men attempted to steal a stack of CD's from a New Deal Travel Center. They fled to Lubbock in a stolen car and later collided with a utility truck at the intersection of I-27 and U.S. 84.
The driver of the stolen car, Jared Austin, was taken to University Medical Center, where he was treated, and released Friday afternoon. His passenger, 44-year-old Victor Glenn Hastey of Plainview, was released from the Lubbock County Jail Friday morning.
Both men are charged with evading arrest, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, theft, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
