Lubbock churches preparing for large Easter crowds

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock churches are preparing for large Easter service crowds Sunday morning.

Some, like Trinity Church, are creating overflow rooms to accommodate additional people.

Cody Winkler, Generations pastor, says they have high hopes for Sunday's crowd.

"We are expecting to double our church attendance," Winkler said.

Hillside Church has added another service to the existing three scheduled for Sunday morning.

Campus Pastor Brad Ingram says they've added hundreds of additional volunteers to help with everything from parking and traffic to greeting guests at the door.

"We wanted to create space in our services tomorrow so we typically have three services Sunday," Ingram says, "We believe that most people will come to our 9 or 10:30 service so in order to create space we added a Saturday night service."
