ABERNATHY, TX (KCBD) -

Abernathy's Ty Pugh signed a letter of intent Tuesday afternoon to join the West Texas A&M track team.

Pugh will focus on triple jump with the Buffs, but this weekend he has the mile relay and triple jump in Odessa. Signing today frees up his focus for the task at hand.

"This week has been full stress. Worrying about Odessa. Worrying about signing, about how I'm going to do so getting this out of the way is a big relief."

Pugh signed in Antelope gym in front of his family, friends and Abernathy students.
