Hale Center welcomes new football coach

Adam Cummings Adam Cummings
HALE CENTER, TX (KCBD) -

For the first time in 19 years, Hale Center has a new Head Football Coach/Athletic Director as Adam Cummings takes over the Owls' top spot.

"Really excited about it. The kids are working hard. Great school. Great administration. Great community," Cummings said.

Cummings comes from Canyon, where he's been the last ten years. He was the Defensive Coordinator the last four seasons.

He grew up in Lockney and is glad to be back in the area. He used to play against Hale Center, but now he proudly coaches the Owls.

"I grew up a Longhorn, but I'm definitely a Hale Center Owl now. It's an honor to be a part of their school system," he said.

He takes over for Paul Chandler, who resigned after 18 years as the Owls football coach.
