Two killed, one injured in automobile accident in Seminary

SEMINARY, MS (WDAM) -

Two people are dead and another is being treated at a local hospital following an accident in Seminary.

Killed were Steven Don Womack, 42 from Carson and Silas Anthony Myers III, 19 from Bassfield.

Chief Michael Kelly of the Seminary Police Department said the accident happened around 9:20 a.m. on Thursday.

Authorities said the accident involved an 18-wheeler and a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 49 and 589.

Chief Kelly says the two people killed were the driver and passenger of the vehicle. The driver of the 18-wheeler, who was from Smith County, was transported to the hospital. The extent of his injuries is unknown.

Highway 49 was blocked for awhile in both directions while the accident was cleared from roadway.
