Food for Thought: 4/24


We've got a full roster of top performers and one low performer this week.

KCBD NewsChannel 11's Christy Hartin shows us what the inspectors found.

We start at the top with a look at this week's top performers:

  • Bahama Bucks at 2515 82nd
  • Kaleidoscoops at 2902 30th
  • Kentucky Fried Chicken at 7902 University
  • Lucky Chen at 1803 7th
  • Mama Josie's Kitchen & Catering at 318 N. University
  • Bar PM and Sports Grill at 1211 University
  • Texas Burritos at 2167 50th
  • Wienerschnitzel at 301 University.

Now to this week's only low performer.

Hong Kong at 4845 50th had six critical violations.

  • Raw beef, sushi, noodles and eggs were above the safe cold temperature of 41 degrees.
  • Rice and fried chicken were not at least 135 degrees.
  • Employees were drinking from cups without lids or straws in the kitchen.
  • Multiple food items did not have a date mark.
  • Toxic items were not labeled. Prescriptions, lotions and home-use pest control were found in the kitchen.
  • Kitchen utensils were dirty or broken.

The report shows all violations were corrected at the time of the inspection.
