Paragould police warn of suspicious activity

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - The Paragould Police Department is warning citizens of a suspicious activity that is consistent with a carjacking tactic.

Police said on Friday, a male suspect was telling drivers to roll down their windows and that he needed them to hold a box that was in his hands.

Once the suspect was confronted by store employees, he left in a small blue or green SUV, possibly a Pontiac Aztec.

Police are not sure what crime was being committed, but the behavior is similar to a carjacking ploy that has been used in other cities.

If anyone has been a victim or a witness to an incident of this nature, the person should contact police with information.

Police are warning drivers not to roll down their windows to a point where someone can reach in the vehicle and open the door.
