Provided by: City of Lubbock

The Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center (GAC) will host a reception on Friday, May 2nd from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the opening of Photo Plains! 2014.

Photo Plains is an open exhibition sponsored by the West Texas Photographic Society of Lubbock. In addition, Visit Lubbock will join us on that Friday evening as we celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week, a tradition dating back to 1984. Visit Lubbock will have an informational table set up throughout the duration of FFAT. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Twenty years ago this month, the West Texas Photographic Society of Lubbock chose to sponsor the only open photography show at the time in Lubbock, encouraging all area photographers to share their work with the community.

The Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center strives to offer an array of fun and comprehensive classes and events for all ages, from basic classes in painting, drawing and photography, to specialized classes such as faux finishing. The center is located at 4215 University Ave.

For more information on classes or reservations please call the Lubbock Municipal Garden and Arts Center at (806) 767-3724, email pgriffith@mylubbock.usor visit our web site at www.lubbockgac.org.
