You can now help the family of Victor Hopkins with his memorial.

Hopkins died Wednesday night after witnesses say he tried to break up a fight near 26th St. and Ivory Ave.

He was shot in the chest and taken to the hospital where he later died.

Police have charged 56-year-old Leroy Mitchell with Hopkins' murder.

KCBD was told that six of Hopkins' children are enrolled in Lubbock ISD schools, where he was an involved parent.

Four of his children reportedly attend Wester Elementary School where employees, made aware of needs in his family, have established an account at Plains Capital Bank, where they have made personal contributions.

If you would like to donate, contributions can be made to the Victor Hopkins Memorial account at any Plains Capital Bank location.
