There's no way around it, spending $750,000 to restore an old house sitting in a flood zone just makes no sense.
But, that's exactly what has been approved by the Lubbock City Council.
This house was designated as a historical landmark back in the 80's and is set to be transformed into a party house for the public.
How that got he ok from council is beyond me.
Other than it's 80 year age, I've not heard one fact of significant history about this house. Don't throw almost $1 million of tax money to renovate it for parties. That money could be better spent on public safety issues.
I guarantee you if the public were voting on it, this would never pass.
City Council just flat out blew this one.
