Shooting at South Plains Mall

Police are investigating a shooting at the South Plains Mall over the weekend. Officers were called to the mall parking lot Saturday afternoon by an 18-year-old who said a man with a gun jumped into his car and told him to drive. The teen stated he and the suspect got into a fight and the man fired two shots, one hitting the teen in the ankle. The suspect then jumped out of the car and into a gold-colored vehicle.

Police later stopped the suspect driving a vehicle matching that description in the 2300 block of Avenue N. Officers arrested the suspect on an unrelated warrant.
