Dia De Los Ninos event to be held at Alderson Elementary

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Alderson Elementary is inviting the community to attend their Dia De Los Ninos (Children's Day) Celebration on Wednesday, April 30, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Dia De Los Ninos is celebrates children and is a popular celebration throughout Central and South America.

Children will be given a backpack filled with books to encourage literacy.

Special speakers as well as live music and free food will also be a part of today's celebration.

Health and community advocates from Lubbock County VOICES Coalition, Tomorrow's Leaders, and Amerigroup will be hosting the event.

Alderson Elementary is located at 219 Walnut Avenue.
