63rd Annual National Day of Prayer to be observed Thursday

Provided by Pray Lubbock

Pray Lubbock is sponsoring an assembly for the purpose of allowing the community to gather and pray for our country, our state and our community. This will take place at noon at the Lubbock County Courthouse Gazebo on Thursday, May 1.

This one-hour event on the courthouse lawn (corner of Broadway and Texas Avenue) will feature prayers for issues that affect our community and country. Civic leaders, pastors, and others from across the city will lead these prayers. Elected officials will be invited to come before the assembly in order to receive prayer.

The theme of the 2014 National Day of Prayer is "One Voice United in Prayer", citing as the theme verse Romans 15:6, "so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." The 2014 national Prayer for our Nation, written by Anne Graham Lotz, will be read in gatherings across our country.
