2014 Summer Activity Guide available Sunday

The City of Lubbock's Recreation and Leisure Services Summer Activity Guide is our best edition yet, with over 800 activities and 32 pages of fun!

The Summer Guide will be available on May 4th in the Sunday Lubbock Avalanche-Journal for Lubbock County residents!

This comprehensive guide is your ticket to summer fun and covers activities and special events for Parks and Recreation, Municipal Swimming Pools, City Health Department, Animal Services, Civic Services, Buddy Holly Center, Silent Wings Museum, Lake Alan Henry and the City Libraries from May through early September.

The guide is listed in an easy to read format with activities grouped together in categories such as art, computers, cooking, performing arts, personal enrichment, fitness, summer camps, swimming lessons, summer events and more.

Classes for adults, parent/child, pre-school, youth, youth camps and teens have separate sections, as well as a section for active older adults. Some of the outstanding events that will be offered include Summer Showcase at Buddy Holly Center, Movie Night at Maxey Park, K-9 SplashFest and Simmons' Back 2 School Backpack Giveaway!

Class registration for all Parks and Recreation Community and Senior Centers will begin on Monday, May 5th. Space is limited, so sign up early before classes and camps fill up!
