Eleven people displaced after fire on 48th St.

Eleven people are left without a home after a fire consumed a building on 48th St., according to the Lubbock Fire Department.

The fire started around 5:00 p.m. at 5430 48th St., and when fire crews arrived on the scene, they found no one in the house.

Two others were also displaced after the fire damaged the house next door.

One firefighter was transported to UMC for symptoms of heat exhaustion. The Fire Marshal's Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
