North Randall cop shot at during chase into Warrensville Heights

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) -

Warrensville Heights Police confirm a North Randall Police Officer was shot at late Sunday evening.

The North Randall officer chased the suspect through the Highlander complex and then the Shaker Park Gardens complex in Warrensville Heights.

19 Action News has learned shots were fired, with the officer returning fire. The officers were not injured.

"I heard a pop.  The glass broke.  I didn't hear the glass break but when I looked out I seen glass all over," said a witness.

The suspect is still on the loose.

"The dude was in the building and he shot through the glass at the door but I  don't know why or what it was about," said another Warrensville Heights resident.

BCI is handling the investigation.
