Students released after Hobbs High School lockdown

HOBBS, NM (KCBD) -

Reports of a suspicious person or persons led to a lockdown at Hobbs High School and Hobbs Freshman High School on Monday.

According to the district's Facebook page, both campuses were placed on lockdown immediately prior to being released.

That post came just after 3:00 p.m. MST.

Around 4:20 p.m. MST the district posted again, saying "Police have cleared Hobbs High School and the Freshman High School and now are RELEASING students to go home after a lockdown that lasted approximately one hour."

The district has not said if any suspicious people were located.
