Imagine giving up your birthday presents to help others. That's exactly what two Lubbock girls did Tuesday.
Instead of asking for gifts, five year-old Mallory Bothun and eight year-old Mackayla Morwood asked for money. On Tuesday, they donated that birthday money, $785 of it, to Habitat For Humanity.
"I just have a good feeling inside that I'm helping others," said Mackayla Morwood and Mallory Bothun.
NewsChannel 11 matched the girls' donation and gave $1,000. The money will be used to build a park in the Habitat For Humanity neighborhood in the 2200 block of Duke.
