TxDOT announces 'Click It or Ticket' safety campaign

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

With Memorial Day just around the corner, TxDOT's Click It or Ticket seat belt campaign is starting up again.

DPS Corporal John Gonzalez says it's important for drivers to be aware of the importance of roadway safety.

"It shouldn't be just this campaign for today or tomorrow. This should be something that people are working on every day because the law says you have to. It should be automatically done by people and encouraging their passengers," Gonzalez said.

The Click It or Ticket enforcement period runs from May 19 to June 1.

Remember, any time you are not buckled on the road, you could face a $200 fine.

Though the full scope of the investigation is not clear, the information requests make evident at least some of the areas that Mueller and his team of prosecutors intend to look into and also reveal a strong interest in certain of Trump's actions as president.
