Former Red Raider Jace Amaro had to wait until day 2 of the NFL Draft, but Friday night he was selected in the 2nd round by the New York Jets with the 49th overall pick.
He's the first Texas Tech Tight End chosen in the NFL Draft in 44 years.
The 6'5 265-pound tight end had 106 catches for 1,352 yards and 7 touchdowns last year for Texas Tech. He left school after his Junior season and was expected to be a first-round pick.
Last night when the first round of 32 ended and Jace didn't hear his name called, he took to Twitter.
Amaro tweeted "You're going to regret it. I promise with all my heart you will."
The Beast is now unleashed in the Big Apple of New York City and Amaro is determined to prove a lot of NFL teams wrong.
