The second suspect from a recent theft at the Stine Home and Yard in Sulphur has been arrested, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Roberto B. Suarez, 51, was taken into custody Tuesday following another theft.
Myers said deputies were dispatched to a different local home improvement store on Tuesday after a customer recognized Suarez as the Lake Charles man wanted for stealing a weed trimmer and chainsaw from Stine on April 29.
"While en route, deputies were advised Suarez had left the store and was now inside another nearby store," Myers said Wednesday in a news release. "Deputies apprehended Suarez without incident. During a search, deputies discovered Suarez to be in possession of stolen merchandise from the store, as well as an electric saw, which was stolen from the home improvement store."
Suarez was charged with one count of theft over $500 and two counts of theft under $500 and
Bond was set at $30,000.
Kellie R. Comeaux, 45, was arrested last week in connection with the theft at Stine. Comeaux, of Lake Charles, was charged with theft over $500.
