Texas Tech baseball wins in extra innings

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Hunter Redman's RBI single in the bottom of the 11th allowed the Red Raiders to take the 4-3 series opener against West Virginia at Rip Griffin Park.

Tech had led 3-1, but the Mountaineers plated two in the 9th to tie it up. Redman's third hit of the game was his biggest as it assures Tech will finish fourth or fifth in the Big 12 Conference.

The Red Raiders are now 38-16 and 12-10 in the Big 12.

Game 2 is 6:30 p.m. Friday at Rip Griffin Park.
