The father of a missing Plainview man confirms his son is alive and safe.

26-year-old Andrew Pena was reported missing on April 6, 2014.

Pena's father, Angel Pena, helped orchestrate community search parties, but their searches were unsuccessful. However, on Saturday, Pena confirmed Andrew had been found alive and is now safe.

In a phone interview with KCBD, Angel thanked everyone who supported his family during their search efforts. He also wanted to thank the businesses who helped donate water as they looked for his son.

He said the people of Plainview, Lubbock and Amarillo were incredibly supportive during their difficult time.

"Bless all of those people who helped search for Andrew," he said.

Angel said there were so many rumors during Andrew's disappearance and the Pena family had been through a lot in the past month or so, but they are now rejoicing because their son is alive.

Angel said he cannot express how happy he is.

"God is good," he said, "God is great."

No details regarding where Andrew was located have been released at this time.
