'Slick Rick,' son of Stage Stop owner, shot in front of venue

(WMC) - Early Saturday morning, the son of Stage Stop owner Nita Makris was shot in front of the venue, located at 2951 Cela Street, just off Stage Road.

Around 1 a.m., police say 49-year-old Ricky Buchanan aka "Slick Rick" was approached by two men dressed in all black and wearing bandannas.

When the suspects demanded his money, Buchanan took off running and was shot. The suspects fled the scene in a small green car, possibly a Honda.

Buchanan was taken to the hospital in critical condition but is now stable, according to his mother.

No further details are available at this time in this ongoing investigation.
