Texas Tech (40-16) closed its regular season with a three-game series sweep over West Virginia, days later the Red Raiders received their 14th consecutive national ranking while five national publications ranked Tech among the nation's elite.

Texas Tech moved up two spots to No. 21 in the USA Today Coaches' poll, jumped one spot in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association to No. 22, remained at No. 27 in Collegiate Baseball's rankings and moved back into Baseball America's rankings at No. 23 and was tabbed 24th by Perfect Game.

After its sixth series sweep of the season – third in Big 12 play – Tech received its 10th national ranking during the last 11 weeks by the Coaches' poll.

For the 14th straight week, including every week of the regular season, the Red Raiders are among the top-30 in the country according to the NCBWA poll. Tech's highest ranking in the poll this season came at No. 21 on Apr. 28.

For the fourth straight week, Tech is in the Collegiate Baseball poll and has now been ranked by the publication seven times this season.

Tech entered the Baseball America poll for the second time this season while its first time ranked in the poll since 2005 was at No. 21 on Apr. 28.

Perfect Game ranked Tech 24th this week, just three weeks after first breaking into the publication's top-25 poll for the first time at 23rd on Apr. 28.

Overall, with each ranking during the regular season, Texas Tech has received 35 national rankings from Baseball America (2), NCBWA (14), Collegiate Baseball (7), USA Today Coaches' (10) and Perfect Game (2).

Tech opens play at the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship against No. 19 Texas on Wednesday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in downtown Oklahoma City.
