Plainview teacher cleared of assault accusation

Posted: Updated:
PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) -

A Plainview elementary teacher accused of slapping a student in the face in January is now clear of all accusations.

Jan Seago, Director of Media and Communication Services at Plainview ISD, tells us this is following three separate investigations by the school district, Plainview police, and Child Protective Services.

The teacher, whose name is still unknown, was accused of assaulting a four-year-old.

Leslie Cavazos picked up her son, Allen, from school on January 13 when he told her the teacher had gotten mad at him and hit him.

She called her sister-in-law and found out her daughter, who was in the same class as Allen, said she saw the incident.

Cavazos immediately called Plainview ISD and complained, and then contacted Plainview police.

The teacher remains employed at the school.
