Memorial Day is the time of year when we pause to remember all of the military men and women who have died while serving their country.
It was formerly known as Decoration Day, and it originated to honor the fallen Union and Confederate soldiers.
Sadly, some of us will head to the lake or fire up the barbeque grill without remembering the real reason for this holiday.
Take a few minutes over the weekend with your family to explain why we get this day off every year. Find a special way to demonstrate your gratitude. Let's honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in order for us to live free.
