Southwest Hopes To Ease Restrictions Banning Flights To Love Field

Southwest Airlines took another step Friday toward fighting federal restrictions that restrict flights from Dallas-Love Field. The 1979 Wright Amendment blocks Southwest from flying direct between Love Field and anywhere beyond Texas and seven nearby states.

On Friday, Southwest's CEO said a congressional effort to allow direct flights to Nashville, Tennessee could help Love field grow. A spokesperson for DFW says the airport will fight any attempt to weaken the amendment.
