Police to close part of 82nd Street on Tuesday

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

In order to further investigate the events from May 22 at the Walmart at 6315 82nd street, Lubbock police will be closing part of 82nd Street on Tuesday around 9 a.m. for an extended period of time.

There will be no east or west bound traffic allowed during this period. Police say they hope to be able to reopen the roadway by noon. 

Traffic will be diverted in a manner to allow access to the businesses in the area.

Police ask that people please try to avoid the area during this time.
