Students from Frenship High School were in Dallas on Saturday squaring off with their remote-controlled I-bots. The students are competing against 60 other teams in a five state robotics championship sponsored by SMU's School of Engineering.
The king of robots, Asimo, made a special appearance. Designed by Honda engineers, Asimo is the wold's most humanoid robot. It can walk, talk, and even climb stairs.
Organizers of the competition say they want to spark kids' interest in math and science. A new report form the United Nations predicts four million robots will be mowing lawns, cleaning floors, and guarding our houses by the end of the decade.
