Students helping other students get ready for college. That's the goal of the 12 Go Centers located in schools throughout the south plains.
Saturday, more than 120 kids from 18 area high schools were at Texas Tech University training to become G-forces. High school G-force members are students selected to serve as peer educators.
"They are learning about all the ways to get to college. About the FASFA, about how to motivate other kids to go to college. Some things they can do in elementary, and junior high to try to get kids more aware of the opportunities of higher education", stated Jill Berset, Executive Director of South Plains Tech Prep.
South Plains Tech Prep is working in conjunction with the College for Texans campaign. The programs want to get more than 300,000 additional students in college by the year 2015.
